Communications

While the PIC16F887 offers several options, only the following is implemented for off-board communications. The single UART is connected to a USB UART bridge. This then enables the connection of the system to a standard PC | Laptop for data transfer and software updates.

The CH340G provides the bridge and the physical connection utilizes the printer USB cable or the type B connector.

To interface with SCALAE-AUTO you will need to install the respective driver, and this is available for download online. Once installed the USB coms will be detected and enumerated as a standard RS232 PORT or COM PORT. This will make it compatible with software that connects to and uses the comport for communication.
