RF Link
RF or Radio frequency is a communications methodology utilizing a uni-directional set of paired modules operating at a set frequency. The modules provide the wireless communications infrastructure and are tied to an MCU that facilitates addressing and interpreting the commands sent and whether to actuate.
The advantage of this method is that it removes the need to hard-wire a control system to the equipment, especially where the two are separate by a significant distance but are on the same site, yet within a 100-meter radius.
The modules are available in several set frequencies, and the ones supported by the Control are listed below.
The transmission module is 3 - PIN, compatible with 3 PIN Header. On the DICIO, you would have noticed the insertion headers for the modules.
The receive module is a 4-pin off-the-shelf module connected to the board during the configuration process.
Configuring the SCALAE - CONTROL to function as either a transmission or receive module is a simple setup procedure that involves selecting the correct module, setting the jumpers, and then restarting the device.
