The SCALAE RELAY is designed for rapid implementation of new and existing systems.
The module offers 2 recommended installation options.
- Direct Mounting: For a more cost-effective mounting method, the module includes 4 mounting points. Four holes can be drilled, and aligned with the PCB Stand-offs are then used to mount it elevated from the mounting surface.
- DIN Rail: A sized DIN Rail mounting platform is available. The unit is inserted into the DIN Rail enclosure and then the assembled module is then added to a panel.
The PCB may be powered by one of the following options
- An AC power source, the secondary side of a transformer can be used to power the PCB direction
- Powered independently by a DC power supply, at around ~5vdc, 500 mA. Owing to this, activating an input is easily accomplished by closing or shorting the two pins.
Do not power the PCB directly from Mains or 120VAC | 220VAC.
Completing the circuit to ground and the opto-couplers out is powered. This then drives the transistor and energizes the relay coil.
The relay used is a single pole, double throw. This enables each relay to be wired up either as normally open or normally closed. The module is labeled and a circuit diagram is provided to illustrate this connection.
